Take Control of Your Allergy Symptoms
If you experience any allergic symptoms, a simple skin allergy test and/or blood test can help you and your primary care provider make more informed decisions about your health. Common allergy symptoms include watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, wheezing, rashes, hives, scratchy throat, coughing, congestion, stomach pain, and swelling of lips, tongue, and/or throat.
Understanding Allergens and Allergy Testing
Find Out What Is Causing Your Symptoms
Allergies affect as many as 30-40% of all people, but over-the-counter medicines like antihistamines might not help ease allergy symptoms. Whether you are exposed to pollens, certain foods, dust mites, pets, or mold, it’s important to understand what is causing your symptoms by performing allergy testing.

Get Answers About Your Allergies at Maya Medical
Getting answers about your allergies can start with your primary care provider like Dr. Chirag Patel at Maya Medical. Along with a physical exam and medical history, your provider can order a simple skin allergy to better understand your allergic triggers.
Under-the-tongue tablets (Sublingual Immunotherapy or SLIT): Tablets are taken at home after the first dose is administered in the doctor's office. They are available for grass and ragweed pollen as well as house dust mites.
Is the allergen one that is difficult to avoid exposure to in everyday life? Do your symptoms consistently interfere with daily activities? Have your symptoms been difficult to control with allergy medications? Do you have related conditions such as eczema, sinusitis, or asthma that complicate your allergies? Are you able to commit to the immunotherapy schedule?
